THE URSACK QUICK RELEASE KNOT
Click on the "Ursack" link above. You'll find the Youtube link which gives instructions for the bear bag knot, specifically the light-weight, bear- and critter- resistant Ursack. You'll find a visual of the first part of this knot on the orange tab on the side of the Ursack Major bag, but the video supplies the entire process.
The Ursack is the sweet alternative to a hard-sided bear canister and a flimsy stuff sack. It's a soft, compressible bag made of super-tough Spectra and/or Kevlar fibers with tungsten and reflective fibers in the 6' cord designed to keep Ramen-rooting and Snicker-seeking wildlife out of your food storage container.
For my 2023, Superior Hiking Trail section hike I'm using the URSACK MAJOR which weighs in at about 7.6 oz.,and holds 10.65L. In addition to the Ursack I'm lining it with Smell-Proof ziplock storage bags.
